Amazon Prime Adds Thousands of CBS Episodes

More viewing options are on the way to current customers of Amazon Prime, CBS and Amazon announced in a new deal on Wednesday.

The agreement brings 2,000 episodes from the CBS library to the service at no additional cost to consumers, bringing the total number of movies and TV shows available to more than 8,000.

Complete seasons of 18 television series, including the full Star Trek franchise, NUMB3RS, MEDIUM, Frasier and Cheers are part of the agreement. Starting this summer, Amazon Instant Video customers will be able to access dozens of CBS shows.

Though terms of the deal have not been disclosed, analysts have estimated that it could be worth as much as $100 million.

Amazon Instant Video is a paid streaming video service with more than 90,000 movies available for purchase or rental. Customers can watch from Amazon on a PC or Mac, or without a computer on an Amazon-compatible television set.


CBS Announces New Fall Schedule

CBS will introduce six new shows this fall, including a remake of a classic police drama and a sequel to a Wednesday night hit.

The news comes during the network’s Upfront presentation, a special pitch to potential advertisers that gives them an early look at the fall lineup in the hopes of attracting early sponsorship commitments.

One of the most anticipated shows coming in the fall is HAWAII FIVE-O, a remake of the 1970s police drama of the same title that also aired on CBS.  That means a new generation will get to grow up hearing the famous line, “Book ’em, Dano.”  Continue reading

Basketball Takes Prime Time

Tonight’s prime time programming will be shown overnight Sunday because of the ACC Basketball Tournament.

Tonight at 7:00pm, Maryland takes on Georgia Tech.

Then at 9:30pm, Florida State and North Carolina State battle it out.

For fans of Friday night’s regular prime time programming, set your DVRs to record Sunday night/Monday morning to see those shows:

  • GHOST WHISPERER: Sunday at 11:35pm.
  • MEDIUM: Monday at 1:35am.
  • NUMB3RS: Monday at 2:35am.

This week’s NUMB3RS is the season finale, but it may well wind up being the series finale, so if you’re a fan, make sure you see this show!
