Clark to Receive Special Emmy Honor

American Bandstand host Dick Clark will receive special recognition for his groundbreaking music program at the 37TH ANNUAL DAYTIME EMMY AWARDS, airing later this month on CBS.

The star-studded roster that will pay tribute to the show and its host includes Cher, Barry Manilow, Garth Brooks, Marie Osmond, Ann-Margret, Frankie Avalon, The Spinners, Jay Leno and Simon Cowell.

Hosted by Regis Philbin, the Daytime Emmy Awards will feature outstanding performers from all fields of daytime television.

Clark, 80, hosted American Bandstand on ABC from 1957 until 1987.  Clark also hosted THE $10,000 PYRAMID and THE $25,000 PYRAMID on CBS in 1973 and from 1982 to 1988, respectively.  He received three Daytime Emmys for hosting that program over the years.
