Though the season “officially” ends tonight, with a handful of season finales still waiting to be broadcast in prime time, results already show that CBS will wrap up this season as the most-watched prime time network.
And it will hold that honor for the seventh time in the past eight seasons, according to Nielsen, the company that measures ratings.
The most popular scripted program of the year was the network’s NCIS, which earned that distinction for the first time. (It wrapped up its seventh season last night.)
The three most popular new programs of the season also are CBS shows: NCIS: LOS ANGELES, THE GOOD WIFE and UNDERCOVER BOSS.
CBS also had 11 of the top 20 shows of the past week, according to TVNewsCheck.
