If you’ve been a member of the workforce for a couple of decades and are considering how much money you still have to save for your retirement, this story might depress you just a bit.
As co-star Charlie Sheen continues to push for a $2-million-per-episode salary to extend his contract on CBS’s TWO AND A HALF MEN, his younger co-star, 16-year-old Angus T. Jones, is bringing home big bucks of his own, enough, in fact, to rank as the highest-paid child actor on television!According to the New York Post, the teen is raking in $250,000 per episode of the hit series. Jones is the only younger star from CBS to make the list of the top 10 richest kids on TV.
An agent notes that after agent and manager commissions, taxes, and a mandatory trust fund deposit required for younger actors by California law, a younger actor making a tenth of Jones’ pay might only see between 30 to 40 percent of that money.
That’s still $7500 per episode. And at, say, 20 episodes in a season, we’re talking $150,000.
And remember, that was figuring on one-tenth of Jones’ salary. To be fair, taxes at his level, of course, would likely take a far bigger chunk of his pay, but you still get the idea.
Nice pay if you can get it, right?
By the way, you can catch Jones in action Monday nights at 9:00pm and weekdays at 4:30pm and 7:30pm on Live 5 WCSC.
