Imagine going to your favorite restaurant and finding that your server is a dead ringer for a celebrity you’ve seen on television. That was the scenario for the CBS special, I GET THAT A LOT, and now three more episodes have been ordered by the network for air on a quarterly basis.
What made the show so funny was that the “dead ringers” weren’t ringers at all: they were the real celebrities tricking everyday people in a case of supposed “mistaken identity” by working ordinary jobs where you’d never expect to encounter someone famous. When confronted, the celebrities had to deny their true identities, which led to exasperated and hilarious reactions from the suspecting customers.
The first edition, which featured Heidi Klum, Jeff Probst, Jessica Simpson, Mario Lopez, LeAnn Rimes and Ice T, aired back on April Fool’s Day, and its ratings success is what prompted CBS to order additional shows.
Stay tuned to WHAT’S ON LIVE 5 for the airdate of the next edition!
